WWII - The Beginning

So I'm going to attend my first WWII event in two weeks. Yay! I decided to pick out a couple of my grandmother's old patterns and see what I can "whip up".

I'm totally undecided so tonight I cut out this one (on the left) in a purple floral calico.

And this one (again on the left) in a blue pinstripe.

We'll see if I manage to get either one completed! ;)

Wish me luck.

Just wanted to give you a little headss up on sewing the old patterns if you haven't done so yet.
The sizing can run very small. I made a pattern several years ago for my mother from one that her mother wore in the 40's. Surprisingly we had to enlarge it much more than we thought.
Hope your sewing goes well. Your CW garments are beautiful. I am sure you will meet the challenge of the WWII garments with the same success.

Thanks so much for commenting! Oddly enough I found that this pattern was way too big for me. Well, actually the pattern I used was an 18 and I should be a 16, but it was quite a bit too big. I was nervous about them being small, so I actually expected the 18 to be just right. Maybe it's because I'm really short?

Anyway, I appreciate your advice and I will always use caution with these patterns until I get a better feel for their size.

Hope you continue to follow along.
